Well, just wrapping up my birthday and I have to say it’s been the best birthday I’ve probably ever had. I feel really blessed today. The number of emails and Facebook and Twitter and voice mail messages I got was overwhealming. Poeple at work were just incredibly kind. And most importantly my wife and daughter and I went out to dinner and had a great time just talking and laughing together. I just feel really loved today.

Well, it’s on! Coachella tickets go on sale today and we’re going!
For those not in the know, Coachella is a 3 day music/arts festival held down by Palm Springs. Honestly I had never heard of it until a few months ago when my daughter told me she wanted to go. Since it was likely that none of her friends would be going, and I wouldn’t let her go without supervision anyway, and also I kind of like hanging out with the kid, I agreed to take her. Kind of a father / daughter adventure. Something to remember.
So we’re all set. I’m friggin broke now (this is one expensive concert!), but it will be worth it. You can’t put a pricetag on stuff like this. Honestly, I don’t even like most of the bands. But it will be a blast hanging out together.
The Fresno Rescue Mission is an amazing faith based organization that feeds and houses the homeless, and spreads the good news of Jesus. They also have a shelter specifically for homeless families with kids. Every year, good people from our church family kick in time and money to buy these folks gifts, and throw them a party to celebrate Christmas. It’s just a really great time of love and fellowship and worship.
